Step 1: Back Up Your Registry
Backing up your registry can be performed a number of ways. However, its easiest to use the System Protection options to make a restore point. Here’s how:
- Click the Start
- Click the Control Panel
- In the Control Panel menu, find System and Maintenance
- Under System and Maintenance, choose Back Up Your Computer
- Under Tasks, Choose Create a restore point or change settings.
- Click Create and name your restore point.
Step 2: Enter the Registry
- Click Start
- Click Run
- Type Regedit into the command line and press enter.
- Click the arrow to the left of HKEY_CURRENT_USER to expand.
